Director, Business Development

Description of Position:
The Director of Business Development will operate under the guidance of the Managing Partner of Consulting and will lead and oversee the development and growth of profitable new business and maintain and foster existing business relationships. This position will also ensure business growth through directing and managing business development activities delivered in accordance to BlumShapiro’s overall business. Other responsibilities include the following:
• Delivering agreed upon sales/revenue goals.
• Utilizing proven Business Development and/or technical background to develop and foster existing and future client base.
• Managing Business Development meetings and activities. This includes identifying new opportunities, coordinating /initiating strategic activities and tracking/ reporting results.
• Initiating telephone calls and conducting in-person meetings with key managers to senior-level executives, for the purpose of promoting services to prospective clients and building on existing client relationships.
• Solidifying BlumShapiro Consulting presence in the local marketplace through consistent participation with industry and local trade association networking organizations and events.
• Consulting with service client base to make recommendations on business and process improvement and serve as a business advisor to client.
• Identifying public relations initiatives and opportunities.
• Working closely with the firm to maintain continuity of standards/policies, monitor compliance with operating processes and organize events in line with strategic objectives.
• Aligning with partners and managers of Firm in order to develop solution strategies.
• Understanding Firm’s service offerings in order to identify new opportunities.
• Managing budget by establishing parameters and monitoring expenses.

Excellent communication and presentation skills. Superior interpersonal, team building and leadership skills. Strong analytical skills, ability to think outside the box, decision making ability, project management focus. Demonstrated business development/sales experience. Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment.



Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Business or a related degree. A minimum of ten years experience working in the IT industry. Demonstrated success in Business Development highly preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft technology and accounting systems.

Business Valuation Professional

Description of Position:

The successful candidate will be responsible for appraising small to mid-market closely- held businesses for estate planning, business planning, financial reporting, and transaction related purposes as well as coordinating valuation engagements.

The position requires interaction with upper level management and may also require involvement in litigation consulting engagements concerning business valuation for divorce, shareholder dissolution, and other similar matters.

An individual in this role must be able to work alone, and effectively lead engagement teams while maintaining high levels of staff utilization, leveraging team member strengths and challenging areas of improvement.

Emphasis will be placed on identifying and executing new Business Development opportunities.

Required Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to think outside the box, excellent written and oral communications, decision making ability, project management focus, teamwork oriented, demonstrated business development/sales experience, ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics and a minimum of five years relevant business valuation experience is preferred. Valuation credentials are a plus (ie. ASA, ABV, CVA, AVA). CPA is a plus, but not required.

Senior Microsoft Consultant

PURPOSE
The Senior Microsoft Consultant will operate under the guidance of the Technology Consulting Director and will provide architecture expertise and application development leadership for the successful delivery of Microsoft platform solutions. They will work directly with clients and project teams to lead the overall application design and development of the solution. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize expertise with Visual Studio 2005/2008 and .NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5 to deliver solutions built on Microsoft platform technologies (SharePoint, SQL Server, PerformancePoint, BizTalk, etc.).
- Work with partners and clients to develop an overall solution vision and effectively communicate initiatives with the entire project team.
- Communicate and present ideas and solutions to project sponsors, client team members, and stakeholders.
- Provide solution design and implementation best practices leadership throughout the full life cycle of one or more solution implementations.
- Apply solution design best practices to mentor other project team members and provide knowledge transfer to clients and partners.
- Work with diverse and distributed teams in a collaborative manner regardless of assigned role or reporting lines.
- Capture, integrate, communicate, educate, and apply the knowledge, experiences, and lessons-learned that are acquired from each engagement.
- NE regional travel required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of implementing custom applications on the Microsoft platform in a hands-on consulting role for medium to large sized corporations across a broad range of industries.
- Specific experience with Visual Studio 2005/2008, .NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5 and is a must.
- 2+ years experience with one or more of the following products (Team Foundation Server 2005/2008, SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, SharePoint 2003/2007, BizTalk 2004/2006/2009, PerformancePoint Server 2007) required.
- Familiarity with Windows 2003/2008 operating system, its security model, and IIS.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
- Superior interpersonal, team building, and leadership skills required.
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline required.
- Microsoft MCSD, MCAD, MCTS or MCP certification is a plus.
