BlumShapiro 5K for Charity draws 300 racers and raises $10,000 for charity
There were over 100 guests on hand to cheer the 300 racers on to the finish! With a time of 17:23, Jay Sattler of BlumShapiro won the competition!
The BlumShapiro 5K for Charity at the Travelers Championship complements the tournament's mission of giving back to the community. Participants raised funds and food donations to help provide meals, shelter and other services to those in need at these Connecticut charitable organizations:
- Columbus House, New Haven, CT
- East Hartford Shelter, East Hartford, CT
- Merton House, Bridgeport, CT
- St. Vincent de Paul Society of Waterbury, Waterbury, CT
The charities will receive $10,000 from this event. With the continued support of our participants and vendor partners, we anticipate helping many other charities in the coming years.
Event sponsors included: the Travelers Championship, the Hartford Marathon Group, Nature Valley Granola Bars and Coca-Cola.
A heartfelt thank you for everyone who participated and volunteered!!!
We hope to see you back again next year!
