General Experience Highlights

As a manager in our Litigation Services and Business Valuation Group, Mark has over 12 years of experience in company valuations, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and reorganizations, tax and litigation support services. He provides privately held companies and business owners with valuation services for shareholder disputes, buy/sell agreements, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting (FAS 141 and 142), gifting interests, estate planning and taxation, and matrimonial dissolutions.

Prior to joining BlumShapiro, Mark was Vice President at Knox & Co., an investment banking and corporate advisory firm in Westport, Connecticut. He was the financial advisor on over 15 mergers and acquisitions and headed the company’s valuation practice. He also was the financial advisor on over 25 restructurings, reorganizations and related consulting assignments, including lead banker on several transactions. Prior to Knox & Co., Mark was a Senior Tax Consultant with Deloitte & Touche, LLP. He provided tax compliance and planning services to corporate clients with combined revenues in excess of a billion dollars.

Professional Education and Firm History

Mark received a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1992, majoring in Accounting. He received a Juris Doctorate and Masters in Business Administration from Pace University in 1997 and 2002, respectively. His MBA concentration was in Taxation. Mark became a Certified Public Accountant in 2000. He became Accredited in Business Valuation and Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2006 and 2008, respectively. He has also been a licensed attorney in Connecticut since 1998. He previously served as Vice President of Knox & Co. and as a Senior Tax Consultant with Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Mark joined BlumShapiro as a manager in 2007.
